Reagan County Booking Photos and Release
A booking photograph records appearance during a particular jail intake. It is tied to an arrest and booking episode, not to a finding of guilt. Release does not transform that image into proof of a conviction, and it does not ensure the image remains online. Reagan County's Kologik roster is configured for current inmates with public history disabled, so a record and its photo can leave public view when custody ends.
Texas law also prevents a simple claim that every booking photo must be released. The current framework appears in Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 2B. It limits law-enforcement dissemination and includes a written-statement mechanism connected to prohibited fee-based publication practices. The Reagan County Sheriff may release other booking and release fields while withholding or conditioning the photograph.
Where Reagan County Release Mugshots Appear
No one Reagan County archive collects released-person photos. The useful channel depends on which agency made the booking and whether the image is still retained or published.
| Channel | Photo status | Access |
|---|---|---|
| Sheriff current roster | May show a current booking image; some fields are empty | Use the official Kologik roster, understanding it has no public release history |
| Sheriff mobile app | Inmate information is advertised, but no released-photo archive was verified | Check the Reagan County Sheriff app page |
| Sheriff records request | A retained photo may be reviewed under Texas law | Identify the booking and request the existing image from the sheriff |
| TDCJ | Not a public released-photo archive | Use state records only for a state-custody history; TDCJ says its informal service does not provide public inmate photos |
| News or sheriff social posts | An old publication may preserve an image | Treat it as arrest reporting, then verify the booking and case with official records |
| Commercial copies | May be stale, wrong, or monetized | Use only as a clue to the originating agency; no commercial source is linked or endorsed here |
Reagan Sheriff Roster and App Limits
The sheriff labels its web tool “Search Current Inmates.” Reagan's configuration does not hide public photos, but it also disables history mode. A current entry may therefore include a booking photo while an individual image field may be empty. When that record leaves the current view, the public page supplies neither a released-person archive nor proof of why custody ended.
The official Reagan County Sheriff TX app advertises inmate information, jail commissary information, news, and communication tools. Its published description does not promise a mugshot archive or systematic recent-release feed. Use it as a second live check, not as release proof. The absence of an entry from either channel must be followed by a jail call or a written release-record request.
Request a Reagan County Booking Photo
The sheriff's online report form is framed around incident, offense, and crash reports rather than jail photos. A direct written request is clearer. Ask for an existing record and allow the custodian to apply Chapter 2B and any other confidentiality rule.
- Identify the person with full name, known date of birth, booking number, and approximate booking date.
- Ask specifically for the booking photograph tied to that booking, plus the booking and release sheet if needed to establish the source.
- Send the request to sheriff@reagancounty.org, fax it to 325-884-2252, deliver it at 320 N. Plaza Ave., or mail it to P.O. Box 832, Big Lake, TX 76932.
- Ask for electronic copies, a cost estimate before charges accrue, and the legal basis for any withholding.
- Keep the response and compare identifiers with the court file before treating the image as correctly matched.
The form says to allow up to ten days and that staff may request more information. That is the sheriff's form guidance, not a universal Public Information Act delivery deadline. No Reagan-specific photo fee, jail-record fee schedule, or records-unit hours were published in the research.
Regional Reports Preserve Arrest Images
KOSA/First Alert 7 and San Angelo LIVE sometimes reproduce Reagan County Sheriff arrest announcements or social-media images. Those dated stories may stay visible after a Kologik entry disappears. They document what was published about an arrest at that time, not whether the person was later released, transferred, convicted, acquitted, or had a charge dismissed.
Commercial aggregators create a similar but less reliable trail. A copied page may confuse people with similar names, omit corrections, or retain an old image indefinitely. Never use such a page to confirm release. Trace the image back to the sheriff booking, then obtain the custody record and the signed court disposition from the responsible offices.
Correcting or Removing Reagan Mugshot Copies
An expunction or order of nondisclosure is not automatic upon release. Texas expunction law in Code of Criminal Procedure Chapters 55A and 55B turns on the specific case, outcome, waiting rules, and charging history. Nondisclosure under Government Code Chapter 411 generally limits ordinary public disclosure for a covered case but does not destroy every record.
If the sheriff's image is inaccurate, contact the sheriff with the exact booking, disputed field, supporting document, and requested correction. Contact a news publisher or other copier separately because an agency correction does not automatically update republications. Texas Business & Commerce Code Chapter 109 regulates covered criminal-record publishers and fee-based correction or removal practices. It does not promise that every independent publication will vanish, and paying a site does not change the court record.
Why a Reagan Booking Photo Disappears
Reagan's roster combines two facts that matter: public photos are not hidden by the agency setting, but released history is disabled. A visible image can disappear when its current-custody record leaves the roster. That change does not establish release to the community. The event could be bond, time served, a court order, transfer to TDCJ, movement to another county, or delivery to federal or immigration custody.
Call 325-884-2424 and ask whether the booking ended in release or transfer, the effective date and time, and the receiving agency if one is recorded. Follow with the booking/release sheet. A focused photo request is the fallback only after the booking has been identified, and the Texas booking-photograph statute still governs whether the image is disclosed.
Verify a Reagan Mugshot's Context
A photo comparison is strongest when the booking number, date, physical descriptors, and arresting agency all agree. Changed appearance and empty image fields make visual matching alone weak. The booking sheet proves which intake produced the image; the release record shows how that custody episode ended; the court file shows the legal outcome.
Reagan County combines county- and district-clerk functions in one office. Request the docket and signed judgment, dismissal, or release order from the clerk when the outcome matters. A mugshot can remain online even when the case was dismissed, and its continued publication never establishes that the person remains confined.
